ShoeMaster

A client in the footwear manufacturing industry had a scanner that could capture shoe outlines as bitmaps but needed to import them into AutoCAD for pattern-making and production. Vector Systems built ShoeMaster to bridge that gap.

The initial brief was a simple bitmap-to-AutoCAD exporter. The delivered product went considerably further:

• Export scanned shoe bitmaps to 5 different DXF and DWG AutoCAD formats
• Automatic hole-removal — cleans up scanning artefacts before export
• DPI-aware conversion — respects the scanner's dots-per-inch setting for accurate scale
• Password-protected distribution
